Some ideas concerning the Semantic Web
نویسندگان
چکیده
In 1998 the World-Wide Web Consortium (W3C) inaugurated a research initiative centred on the idea of providing semantics for and facilitating the extraction of knowledge from the WWW. The Semantic Web is a vision of Tim Berners-Lee, the creator of the WWW. With the help of XML, RDF, OIL and other emergent standards it will be possible to give more structure and meaning to existing web data. This will lead to a universal network where all available information can effectively be found: the semantic web. Clearly, the realisation of the semantic web will have a huge influence on the way digital libraries will be conceived.

متن کاملBuilding Secure Survivable Semantic Webs
This paper describes some ideas for a secure survivable semantic web that follows some of our previous ideas on dependable semantic web. Semantic web is a technology for understanding web pages. It is important that the semantic web is secure. In addition, data exchanged by the web has to be of high quality and survive failures and errors. The processes that the web supports have to meet certai...
متن کاملUse of Semantic Similarity and Web Usage Mining to Alleviate the Drawbacks of User-Based Collaborative Filtering Recommender Systems
One of the most famous methods for recommendation is user-based Collaborative Filtering (CF). This system compares active user’s items rating with historical rating records of other users to find similar users and recommending items which seems interesting to these similar users and have not been rated by the active user. As a way of computing recommendations, the ultimate goal of the user-ba...
متن کاملConcept-Based Search on Semi-structured Data Exploiting Mined Semantic Relations
In this paper we show the current state of the ongoing research concerning our prototype for a search engine on semi-structured data incorporating rules mined on extracted structured data. We illuminate some ideas from the research field of data mining and how to apply them to the retrieval process. Additionally, we show technical aspects and features of our search engine.

Through the development of semantic Web, One major difficulty is that, by its very nature, the semantic web is a large, uncensored system to which anyone may contribute. This raises the question of how much credence to give each resource. Each user knows the trustworthiness of ...
